Change the World 2009: Renovating the St. Louis Home

HGTV's Carter Oosterhouse and Monica Pedersen joined more than 350 volunteers from Rebuilding Together to renovate this home for homeless veterans. The volunteers donated some 3,000 hours on the project.

Forland, Jr. bought the home that would become the Windsor Transitional House with the hope of creating a place for veterans to find emergency shelter and transitional housing. After his own experience returning from active duty, Hence wanted to help other veterans in their often difficult transitions back to civilian life.
