Since everyone on this episode is on a completely level playing field, the challenge becomes demonstrating how much "outside-the-box" thinking you can do with limited time, budget and resources. Beautiful and well-designed artifacts can exist anywhere, and it is up to the remaining eight contestants to showcase their creative talents and personal style by re-imagining nontraditional home decor items in inventive and new ways.
This room showcases some inventive applications such as the employment of jack stands for coffee-table legs and a large air filter as a lampshade. The tall work light employed is both bold and graphic, and can make a sophisticated design statement in the right setting.
