Joan Kohn 10/22/2003
Question: What is the biggest change you have seen in kitchens in the last 10 years? Joan Kohn: The architecture is becoming far more exciting than ever before. As people make their kitchens as important as any other room in the house. Kitchens have become the new living room and so we're seeing exciting ceiling treatments, gorgeous floors, niches, alcoves, bay windows...you name it and it's all so beautiful! By the way, pantries are making a big comeback, adding a lot of functional possibilities as well as great style to today's kitchens whether they are traditional or contemporary.

Matt Fox and Shari Hiller 10/16/2003
Question: I love deep jewel tones. I have a small north facing bedroom, 10x10 that I would like to paint a deep red. I'm afraid it will make the room dark and closed in. What do you think. Any other suggestions for color? Shari Hiller: I love your idea for red for that room! Matt Fox: Ditto! Shari: Red may make the room seem cozier, not smaller, but you can combat that by adding artwork to the walls, using lighter furniture and lighter window coverings. Just enjoy the red.

Carol Duvall 07/15/2003
Question: What charity do all the Christmas ornaments go to that the viewers send in?
Carol Duvall: It varies from year to year. Last year, they went to one of the Shriner's hospitals for children, and we received some photographs from them that I hope I will be able to show this year if they show up well enough on camera. Interestingly enough, what the folks did at the hospital was to hang the ornaments in different places throughout the hospital rather than on one specific tree. That way a lot more people, children and adults alike, could get a chance to enjoy them.

Matt Fox and Shari Hiller 06/24/2003
Question: Hi, Shari & Matt — Love the show. What do you suggest for an extremely small guest bath?
Matt Fox: Don't have guests! ;^)
Shari Hiller: You're just full of it tonight, Matt! I find no matter what you do, an extremely small guest bath will be just that. So we have painted them navy blue so the white fixtures will stand out.
Matt: It's actually the one bathroom you can have fun decorating.
Shari: Right, give it some style and pizzazz.
